The ceremony, graced by the presence of David and Lezlie Pipes, was a joyous occasion celebrating the progress made by TFalls Foundation Inc. in improving educational infrastructure.

Event Highlights

The event was masterfully presided over by MC Njoroge wa Githinji, who set the tone for the day's proceedings. The ceremony began with an energetic welcome, featuring vibrant songs and dances that reflected the rich local culture, followed by a march by the school’s scouts. This lively display captured the excitement and pride of the community in the new school facilities.

The highlight of the event was the symbolic ribbon-cutting by David and Lezlie, officially opening the new classrooms and administration block. This act marked the culmination of months of hard work and dedication by TFalls Foundation Inc. and the local community.

Following the ribbon-cutting, the attendees were treated to an unforgettable performance of local folk songs. One of the standout performances came from the students of Muthengera Comprehensive School, who showcased their talent and spirit in front of an appreciative crowd.

A Heartfelt Tribute: 'My Shining Star'

One of the most emotional moments of the day came when a Grade 7 student from Muthengera Comprehensive School delivered a moving poem titled "My Shining Star", dedicated to TFalls Foundation Inc. The poem, rich with imagery and emotion, compared TFalls Foundation Inc. to a shining star, expressing gratitude for the unwavering support and care that had transformed their life. The poem’s heartfelt tribute resonated deeply with everyone present, highlighting the profound impact of the foundation’s work in the community.

Gifts for Top Students

Silvia Karuga, a local who now resides in Dallas, Texas, also played a special role in the event, presenting 25 school bags to top-performing students. These gifts were courtesy of ACBA Bank and were a token of appreciation for the students' hard work and dedication.

Speeches of Gratitude and Reflection

The speeches that followed were filled with gratitude and reflection. The Area Chief, Ngunjiri, was the first to speak. He warmly welcomed the chief guests, David and Lezlie, and all other attendees. The Chief spoke of the remarkable transformation Muthengera Comprehensive School had undergone, thanks to the efforts of TFalls Foundation Inc. He expressed deep appreciation for the foundation’s contributions and acknowledged the support of the local leadership, including the sub-chiefs who were present.

Mr. Singilai, the Head Teacher of Muthengera Primary School, also gave remarks, introducing other school heads and the Education Representative, Mr. James Gate. Their words were a testament to the importance of community collaboration and the shared goal of improving educational opportunities for local children.

Harrison, the foundation foreman in charge of all the projects, spoke with deep emotion about TFalls Foundation's journey, reflecting on the early doubts and challenges faced. He expressed his gratitude to the community for their trust and ongoing support, particularly from the parents, teachers, and local leaders. Harrison acknowledged the challenges of managing funds and staying focused on goals but assured the community that the foundation was committed to continuing its work, one school at a time, with plans to expand to other areas in the future.

Charles: A Vision for Education

Charles, the founder of TFalls Foundation Inc., spoke next, welcoming everyone and expressing his thanks for the community’s warmth and hospitality. He shared his personal story, reflecting on the hardships he faced growing up, but also on how he found support and guidance in the United States. Charles expressed his gratitude to donors like David and Lezlie Pipes, who have been instrumental in helping realize the foundation’s vision. He emphasized that the foundation’s success was due to the collective effort of the volunteers, board members, and the community. He also thanked local leaders for their active involvement in the projects and reiterated the foundation’s focus on helping schools, one at a time.

Lezlie's Personal Journey

Lezlie, the Secretary and Treasurer of TFalls Foundation Inc., shared her own journey into charity work. She spoke of initially viewing international service as someone else’s responsibility, but after leaving her career to focus on giving back, she became deeply involved in local initiatives.

Lezlie highlighted her partnership with Charles and her own family's strong commitment to education, influenced by her father’s determination to improve his children’s lives through schooling. She stressed that education has always been the key to her success and remains the driving force behind her charitable work.

David's Words of Encouragement

hospitality shown by the community. David commended the teachers, students, and parents for their involvement and emphasized that it was a privilege to contribute to such impactful work. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the foundation’s ongoing efforts.

A Bright Future Ahead

As the ceremony came to a close, Harrison concluded the meeting with heartfelt thanks to all attendees and contributors and offered final benedictions. The event was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through community collaboration, volunteerism, and a shared commitment to education.
