Laikipia County, Kenya – June 2025
In a vibrant celebration of progress, partnership, and purpose, TFalls Foundation officially handed over a newly constructed 20-door ablution block and a new administration block to Maina School, marking yet another milestone in the Foundation’s mission to uplift education through dignified infrastructure.
Set in the heart of Laikipia County, the event brought together students, educators, parents, and community leaders, affirming the school’s new chapter of growth, health, and academic potential.
A Grand Welcome
The ceremony began with a spirited performance by the Maina School Scouts, who led a formal march to welcome the TFalls delegation and guests. Their disciplined formation and rhythmic drumming reflected the pride and excitement pulsing through the school grounds.
Following a word of prayer and traditional blessings from local elders and spiritual leaders, the school’s Headteacher, Mrs. Josephine Tuiye, offered opening remarks. She described the long-standing challenges the school had faced with sanitation and office space and expressed profound gratitude for TFalls’ timely intervention.

Facilities Tour and Official Opening
Guests were taken on a guided tour of the two new facilities—starting with the ablution block, which offers 20 private, sanitary toilet stalls tailored to the needs of both boys and girls. For many students, this was their first experience with hygienic and well-constructed school bathrooms.
The tour continued to the new administration block, now equipped with organized office space for staff and leadership. Teachers and school leaders shared their enthusiasm, noting how the new space would enhance operations, planning, and service delivery.
After the tour, the facilities were officially declared open and ready for use. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting was met with loud cheers, ululations, and applause—marking the moment when hope and hard work met joyful reality.
Words of Impact and Gratitude
During the speeches, voices from across the community came forward to celebrate the transformation:
TFalls Board Members Timothy Muthoga and Harrison Maina, who attended with their families, spoke passionately about the Foundation’s long-term vision. They emphasized the power of restoring dignity to students through practical, high-quality infrastructure.
Mrs. Tuiye, the Headteacher, expressed deep appreciation, sharing how the new facilities will directly reduce absenteeism, especially among girls, and improve teacher productivity.
A student representative delivered a moving speech on behalf of her peers, saying,
“TFalls Foundation has shown us that we matter. These buildings are not just for today—they are for our future.”
A teacher representative noted that the improved workspaces have already brought new energy to the staff, adding,
“This is the first time we feel like we’re working in a school that values us.”

Strong Regional Support
The event drew guests from beyond Maina, including:
Headteachers from Thiru School and Kwanjiku School, who attended in support and solidarity.
Students from Thiru and Muthengera School, who performed uplifting poems and songs to celebrate the occasion.
The Headteacher of Kayu School, a recently completed TFalls Foundation project, also joined the ceremony.
A wide cross-section of teachers from surrounding schools, area education officers, religious leaders, and community elders, all of whom voiced their admiration for the transformation and the collaborative spirit behind it.
Also present were members of the TFalls Foundation construction team, recognized for their craftsmanship and dedication, and the family of TFalls President Charles Wangondu, who represented him in his absence and received a warm welcome from the school community.

Celebration of Community
The event concluded with a joyful celebration. Students presented dances and traditional songs, parents shared meals with guests, and laughter echoed throughout the school grounds. It was a moment of unity—celebrating not just new buildings, but shared values and collective effort.
A parent was heard saying near the newly finished block,
“Our children will now go to school with pride. We are no longer ashamed.”
A Legacy of Hope
The new ablution and administration blocks are more than structures—they are symbols of restored dignity, health, and opportunity. They are a promise that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment to learn, grow, and thrive.
“You’ve given us more than buildings,” a student said. “You’ve given us a reason to believe in ourselves.”
Looking Ahead
With Maina School now fully equipped with these essential facilities, the school is set to make strides in enrollment, academic performance, and staff retention. TFalls Foundation remains committed to walking alongside the school, just as it has with others like Thiru, Mungetho, Muthengera and Kayu, continuing its work of rebuilding with dignity—one school at a time.
