#6 Kwanjiku Comprehensive School Upgrade

Kanjiku Comprehensive School is currently facing critical infrastructure challenges that hinder the quality of education and compromise student well-being. The school lacks adequate bathroom facilities, forcing students to rely on outdated and insufficient sanitation options that jeopardize hygiene and dignity. This situation disproportionately affects female students, often resulting in absenteeism and increased health risks.

Furthermore, two of the school’s classrooms are semi-permanent structures that are dilapidated, unsafe, and unsuitable for effective learning. These makeshift classrooms are overcrowded, poorly ventilated, and highly vulnerable to weather conditions, making it extremely difficult for students to concentrate and for teachers to deliver quality instruction.

To address these pressing challenges, there is an urgent need to construct a modern bathroom block to improve sanitation and student health, and to replace the two semi-permanent classrooms with permanent structures. This upgrade will create a safe, conducive learning environment, reduce overcrowding, promote dignity and well-being, and significantly enhance academic performance at Kanjiku Comprehensive School.

Comprehensive infrastructure upgrade has successfully been completed for this school. This transformative project marks a major milestone in improving the learning environment, hygiene standards, and overall well-being of the students.

What Has Been Completed

Over the past months, the school has undergone significant improvements designed to address long-standing challenges. The following facilities have now been fully constructed and handed over for use:

1. Modern Bathroom Block

A new, fully equipped bathroom block has been completed to replace the outdated and insufficient sanitation facilities previously in use.This upgrade provides students with clean, safe, and dignified restrooms—improving hygiene and reducing health risks, especially for female students.

2. Administrative Office Block

A new office block has been constructed to support better administration and coordination within the school.This space will enable staff to work more efficiently and better serve the needs of students and the community.

3. Two Fully Furnished Permanent Classrooms

Two new permanent classrooms have been completed and fully furnished, replacing the semi-permanent, dilapidated structures that previously housed students.These classrooms provide a safe, well-lit, and conducive learning environment that supports concentration, comfort, and improved academic performance.

From Challenge to Transformation
