#7 Mt. Angels Comprehensive School Infrastructure Upgrade

TFalls Foundation’s Most Ambitious Project Yet

Mt. Angels Comprehensive School, located in a bustling metro area and serving more than 1,500 students, is set to undergo a transformative infrastructure upgrade led by the TFalls Foundation. With the school operating on less than 1.5 acres, overcrowding and inadequate facilities have made learning conditions increasingly challenging. Under the leadership of Headteacher Liberata Mbatia, the school has long awaited an opportunity for expansion—an opportunity that has finally arrived.

Project Challenges

Overcrowding

More than 1,500 learners share an extremely limited space, resulting in congested classrooms and strained learning environments.

Inadequate Bathroom Facilities

The current number of bathrooms is far below what the population requires. Students often queue in long lines and take turns to use the facilities, losing valuable learning time.

Inadequate School Kitchen

The kitchen struggles to accommodate meal preparation for the large student body, limiting the school’s ability to serve students efficiently.

Planned Improvements

✔ New 24-Unit Bathroom Block

A modern, high-capacity bathroom facility that will significantly improve sanitation, reduce wait times, and enhance student well-being.

✔ Six New Classrooms (Two-Story Block)

Due to limited land space, the classrooms will be built vertically as a two-story structure. This will ease congestion and create more effective learning spaces.

✔ Additional 1.5 Acres Donated by the County

The county has generously donated 1.5 additional acres to the school.

This land includes a fully built county social hall, which will be repurposed into classrooms for Mt. Angels.

Donation Condition: TFalls Foundation must reconstruct a new social hall on another site provided by the county. This requirement expands the project significantly—making it the largest and most ambitious initiative in TFalls Foundation’s history.

✔ Upgraded School Kitchen

The existing kitchen will be upgraded to meet the needs of the current and future student population.

Budget & Timeline

Estimated Budget: $280,000 – $300,000

Project Duration: Approximately 10 months

Given the construction of new facilities and the rebuilding of the county social hall, this project covers the widest scope TFalls has taken on to date.

Community Appreciation

Headteacher Liberata Mbatia, together with parents and the broader community, has expressed deep gratitude for the Foundation’s intervention.

“This project brings hope to our school and relief to thousands of families. We are deeply thankful.”

— Headteacher Liberata Mbatia

The support from partners, the county, donors, and well-wishers has been essential in making this milestone possible.
