Project Overview: TFalls Foundation Inc. is committed to improving educational infrastructure in underserved areas. As part of this mission, the foundation is undertaking a vital upgrade of Maina Comprehensive School in Laikipia County. This project will focus on the construction of a new administration block and a new bathroom block to enhance the learning environment, improve staff welfare, and ensure the safety and privacy of the students and teachers.

Need Statement: Maina Comprehensive School currently operates from inadequate facilities that hinder the effective delivery of education.

1. Inadequate Administration Office: The school’s administration office is housed in a small, semi-permanent structure that can no longer accommodate the growing number of teachers and administrative staff. This space is overcrowded and lacks the necessary functionality to support the management of the school’s activities efficiently. The limited office space disrupts the workflow, making it difficult to store important documents, manage daily operations, or provide an organized environment for the staff.

2. Inconvenient and Unsafe Bathroom Facilities: The current bathroom facilities at Maina Comprehensive School are located far from the main teaching and administrative areas, hidden behind the fence line. This placement not only poses a security risk but also makes the bathrooms inaccessible and inconvenient for staff and students. The bathrooms have deteriorated significantly due to erosion in the area, leading to structural collapse. The lack of functioning restroom facilities compromises the health and well-being of the school community, creating an unhygienic environment that is both unsafe and uncomfortable for use.

Project Objectives:

• Construct a New Administration Block: To provide a spacious, permanent, and well-equipped administration office that can accommodate all school staff and administrative activities efficiently. This new building will ensure that the school’s management can operate effectively, supporting better educational outcomes.

• Construct a New Bathroom Block: To build a new, well-placed, and durable bathroom block that is easily accessible to both students and staff. The new bathrooms will be located in a safer, more central area to ensure convenience and privacy, addressing the current security and health concerns related to the existing facilities.
